❝A Sphere Maker's Craft❞ A Systematic Review of Sphere Cutting: Notes and Comments
book by Robert F. Ritchie, reviewed by Justin Zzyzx
| Across the world, you find spheres made of stone. Gift shops, metaphysical bookstores, rock shows, the sphere is something that almost anyone can imagine having in their home. Few think about the work and technique behind the making of these spheres. If you have ever wondered just how stone spheres are made, A Sphere Maker’s Craft is the book to own. |
| A technical book, featuring all the subject matter, the choices between sphere machines, supplies, material, cutting, polishing, notes on over 20 different rock types and more.
The book is very well thought out, the extra touches make this a premier workbook for sphere makers. The paper is semi-waterproof, the binding lets the book lie flat. References are clearly marked and the colorful text makes notes and figures a breeze to locate. |

| I have been reading this technical manual off and on for a couple weeks now. It is very entertaining for those who would enjoy the subject. If you have ever thought to yourself, “I wonder what it takes to cut a sphere”, this book is tailor made for you! If you sell spheres and people are constantly wanting a cheaper price on them, keep this book on hand to show them how much work goes into polishing a sphere! |
