33. 2007 East Coast Gem & Mineral Show Report
Better Living Center, Eastern States Exposition, Springfield MABy: Justin Zzyzx
Every year in August, Springfield Massachusetts is home to the very best mineral show on the East Coast of America Produced by Martin Zinn Expos, "the Springfield Show" (as it is commonly refered to) draws in several thousand visitors to see all of the very best dealers from around America, many east coast dealers that don't venture into the western states, Some very interesting International dealers, plus a huge wholesale section! This year Brandy and I went to the show on Friday and Saturday as a nice aside to our hectic filming tour of the Northeast USA. I'm going to show you some of my favorite things from the show while Brandy will post her show report on the RockhoundingVideos.com site. So, without further interuption, here are my pictures from the show

Dylan Stolowitz of Green Mountain Minerals showing us a large fresh new Brazilianite cluster!
Dylan's brother Nick just returned from Brazil with this new pocket of crystals...pretty nice, eh?
These beautiful Amethyst Scepters fell into their laps the other day...what fantastic crystals!
Check out this fine cabinet sized Amethyst crystal geode from Tafelkop, Brandburg Mountains, Namibia
Won't someone give Collector's Edge $45,000 for this lovely Bisbee Azurite? Good lord, that's one fine specimen!
We didn't find any Garnets this nice while WE were at Eden's Mills, that's for sure!
Next year...I'll dig some Barite crystals like this!

For the Fresh new Apatite specimens from Brazil, look no further than Wright's Rock Shop! From the Sapo Mine, these odd new specimens have a fairly unique look to them.

Here is the Himes of Graber & Himes, showing us one magnificent Liddecoite Tourmaline. The call it the "Tequila Sunrise"...let's backlight that a little bit...

Steve U. from New Era Gems showed me a POCKET of Tanzanite crystals that had been recovered shortly after the latest earthquake over in Tanzania
These Tanzanites are some of the biggest and juciest specimens I've ever seen in one spot!

Rob Lavinsky doesn't do many shows each year, so it's always a treat to see The Arkenstone out at the Springfield show!

Scott from Miner's Lunchbox has got some MAGNIFICENT Tsumeb specimens from the George Gebhard Collection...cool stuff!

Donald K. Olsen showed us two very cool lots of minerals he had for the show...some Crazy fine Ohio Fluorite crystals!

John Betts had two new finds of some very cool gems...Opals from Ethipoia
And some very nice Diamond crystals!
