Quite a few years ago I read an article about the Crater of Diamonds state park in Pike County Arkansas. I was astonished that people would screen for days, weeks and years without finding anything, yet keep going. After spending a few hours immersed in this book, I can understand why these people would keep pushing day after day in search for these elusive gems.

Mr. Worthington shows a complete history of the diamond bearing lamproite deposit, from the original find by a poor dirt farmer until today. The author shows us an amazing assortment of photographs including dozens of fantastic photos from the early history and remarkable arrays of diamonds found at the park.

I had no idea the scale of finds at this location and the pictures of the large 5 carat + diamonds is quite breathtaking. It is not hard to understand why people will search through the mud day after day in search for these amazing American treasures! The Crater of Diamonds mine is the world's only diamond mine open to the public.

2nd Edition Large, Full Color Softcover is amazing deal at $19!

Very well written and captivating, this book serves as a great evening read and an excellent coffee table book! I highly recommend this to anyone even remotely interested in diamonds or the history of this unique location!
