Hello, my name is Isaias Casanova. I founded IC Minerals (ICM) in 1989. "Quality minerals at reasonable prices", was the quote on my first business card. I started with local shows but was limited to few national shows, since at the time I worked for a financial institution. In 1994, I decided to produce a video catalog for collectors who were "travel limited" and could not attend the major shows. It was not an original idea, (there were a few mineral videos on the market) so I decided that at least, since my video was not the first, then it would be the best available. I wanted a well videographed production, with music and fine minerals to sell to the collector. With the help of my ex wife Ann, and Herberto Velez (Videographer), we shot IC Minerals on Video, Volume 1. It was well received by the collectors and trade magazines. A year later, I was on the main floor at the Tucson Show. In July 1998, ICM went on the Internet, opening up a new way of offering fine minerals to the collector. I stopped doing videos in 2003 and now concentrate on the Internet site and certain trade shows. ICM is my business. I do all the photography for the site, the specimen acquisitions, preparation, labeling, research and marketing. Yes, it's fun and I enjoy it tremendously!
ICM is now a full time business. After 15 years, my goals remain the same. To provide collectors with "quality minerals at reasonable prices". I want you to be happy with the minerals ICM offers, whether you find them on the web site, at a major show, at a private showing in your home or in my showroom in the Orlando area. I offer a "money back guarantee" and a 7 day inspection period on all the minerals shipped. Please use expediency in any returns and the care necessary in shipping mineral specimens.

JBF Minerals specializes in fine minerals from around the world for rock collectors. I sell primarily aesthetic pieces from thumbnails to cabinet specimens. All of the specimens for sale on this site are hand selected, photographed, and organized into mineral photo galleries. Because I buy a lot of my minerals overseas directly from the miners (and collect some myself), my stock is constantly changing. So please stop back often!

I started Key's Minerals and opened my mineral store in 1998. Initially, I was in the music business in Tokyo. I was a professional saxophone player, and collected minerals as a side hobby. In 1995, the Great Hanshin Earthquake hit my hometown, Ashiya. This event changed my life. I decided to leave Tokyo, to repair my family home left to me by my mother. I decided to start a fulltime mineral business in my hometown.
Why "Key's Minerals"? I am called "Key-san" by those close to me.
We value your support and aim to provide high quality specimens for the best prices.

The Khyber Mineral Company specializes in offering high quality mineral specimens at a reasonable price. After several months of planning, the company came alive on the web in May of 2003, following a trip to the North Western Frontier Province of Pakistan where the owner personally selected the initial offering of the specimens. Since then specimens from Pakistan and Afghan regions continue to be made available on the site, the offerings have been extended to include other geographic regions such as Africa, China and South America. Amongst our current offerings are Chinese mimetite, afghanite, bastnäsite, thumbnail Brazilian monazites and xenotimes, and other specimens ranging from fine cabinet aquamarines to new Bolivian vivianites, as well as a selection of fine Russian specimens. The owner believes in developing the business by word of mouth and every attempt is made to leave the customers absolutely delighted. Emails are answered promptly, every attempt is made to ship the product within two business days, and no profits are made from shipping and handling.

Comments: Scapolite of this quality is better known from Mpwawa, Tanzania, and crystals like this one are virtually unheard of from Mozambique (actually, this crystal would be large even for Tanzania.) According to the mine owner, this crystal came from a small batch of 3 or 4 crystals. The others were faceted, this one was preserved. This is an exceptional scapolite for any locality, but is doubly rare being from Mozambique. The crystal is terminated and very gemmy. I have never seen another of this size and quality from the country.

I have just posted a page of new specimens from the Amalia mine. These include boleites (including one 15 cm specimen), a few matrix cumengeites, and a new find of chrysocolla after boleite pseudomorphs. This find was small and not widely publicized, but I consider it to be one of the more significant, and certainly the most interesting novelties of the show. http://www.khyberminerals.com/boleite_cumengeite.htm

ExtraLapis, the prestigeous German monograph series is finally available in English. Gloria Staebler and Guenther Neumeier through the newly formed Lapis International have secured the rights to update and print the series.German publisher Christian Weise recently released the 25th edition of extraLapis, published in Munich since 1991. In addition to extraLapis and numerous other German language, mineral related publications, Christian Weise is the publisher and founder of the widely recognized monthly Lapis, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Using high quality photographs and a variety of authors, extraLapis has brought German-speaking readers a broad view of the science, culture, mining and history surrounding its subjects. Subjects, which have included: Gold, Calcite, Petrified Wood, Topaz, Native Silver, Opal, and Pyrite as well as the rich mineralogical regions of the Austrian Zillertal, the Alps, and the Italian island of Elba.
Lapis International has agreed to publish English edition of all twenty in the series over the next ten years, simultaneously reissuing, in English, new issues in the series following their publication in German. Their first issue on the minerals of the island of Madagascar was published in November 2001.
Lapis International is committed to bringing to its readers the quality for which extraLapis is known. The English editions will employ most of the original color lithographs, printed and bound in Germany in the same quality as the original editions.
Guitar lessons didn't pan out, but I stil say that I was "born to rock". That's because a nother form of rock - minral collecting - has become a huge passion of mine.
It was purely a hobby for me until I opened up a gem, mineral and jewelry store called Gallery of Gems in Baca Raton Florida in 1975. During the last 10 years I have dealt in mostly minerals and gems in various shows, such as Tucson's main show and other shows in Florida and around the country.
Today, with the advent of the internet, I am excited to bring the highest quality specimens to avid collectors. So thanks for visiting my site and checking out my life-long passion.
LITHOGRAPHIE, LLC began business under the name Lapis International, LLC in 2001, when mineral dealer and small business consultant Gloria Staebler teamed up with mineralogist and Lapis editor Günther Neumeier to publish licensed English-language editions of the prestigious German mineralogical monograph series extraLapis. Working with author Federico Pezzotta, pegmatite specialist William "Skip" Simmons and translator Alfredo Petrov, the pair published Madagascar, the first extraLapis English monograph, in December 2001. While the English edition of Madagascar was updated and re-edited, it remained was fairly close to the German original. For the second extraLapis, Emeralds of the World, the late John Sinkankas and then Royal Ontario Museum gemologist Terry Ottaway were guest editors. John encouraged Gloria and Günther to depart from the German editions by replacing select texts with articles designed to give the books a more international appeal. John also introduced more rigorous editorial standards, insisting that the quality of the texts matched that of Lapis' stunning illustrations. He was adamant that the English issues should include a reference list.
I (Jay) was first bitten by the rock bug when my wife brought home a small box of rocks and findings after cleaning out her Uncle's house for him. That was in 1997. I then purchased a Lortone tumbler to grind and polish them. That same tumbler is still running to this day in my bedroom? (I work midnights and it creates my "white" noise.)There have been many other pieces of equipment purchased since then, but none used more. in the summer of "98" I went to a local auction to kill some time and ended up carting out four truck loads of rock and equipment, mostly lapidary. But in one corner was a couple of large containers of a heavy ore like rock. I almost threw them away (as if that were to ever happen?).
Then I discovered they were from Franklin N.J. That opened up a whole new avenue for me, Collecting Fluorescents Minerals. Shortly there after I joined the Fluorescent Mineral Society, member #1147. A good place to view lamps and purchase minerals is Fluorescents.com. Bill Gardner has a few mine claims in Arizona and builds lamps in his spare time. He claims more output than ever of Superbrite? He also has multicolor mineral specimens available from his Purple Passion and Hogan claims.
