Marin Mineral Company is strictly an internet rock shop catering to intermediate to advanced mineral collectors. I strive to offer high quality, aesthetic minerals of a wide range of species from a wide range of locations. I don't have tens or hundreds of any particular mineral but the few I have usually have been "highgraded" from a large lot. Comments: Large double terminated Quartz crystal with multi-colored Tourmaline cluster embedded in one side. The tourmaline is 4.5cm long, terminated, and pink with green caps. The Quartz is translucent to transparent with a light smokey color, with a few dings but overall in good condition.

Comments: The Smoky Hawk Mine has produced some outstanding Amazonite, and this is a great chance to secure an excellent example at a reasonable price. Be aware that this small cabinet specimen has been repaired, but the repair is undetectable, but keeps this price much lower than the specimen would command. It was done by a mineral laboratory. It is reported here for accuracy.

Comments: Much of the structure apparent in the photos is actually the edges of extremely thin, often circular, growth planes. The piece looks like a flat rabbit's head, and the 60'–separated ears have hoppered side faces. An unusual habit for Hematite, this piece was collected in the 1970's. Although flat Hematite is known from a few localities, none of those specimens appear to be quite as large, as well-formed or as completely flattened as the pieces from this particular find in Morocco.

Comments: A remarkable piece for a smaller specimen. In all honesty, this piece should be trimmed down to a top notch thumbnail, because it would only accentuate the already large crystals on the specimen. There is a beautiful X-shaped twin on this piece (the best photo of it is pictured at the top of the page where I showed the color change photos) which is accompanied by a larger twinned crystal group. For the quality and beauty of the piece, it surely is one of the best pieces pound for pound in this update.

Comments: These octahedral crystal specimens were hand picked for their interesting form, as well as their external perfection. Obviously, if they were gem quality we could not offer them for such low prices per carat. Comments: Major tourmaline with nice lepidolit cristals sparkled all around the piece.Also a very classic locality for these tourmalines.You can see many pieces on the market but SO FEW of that quality with some REAL pink and green colors.Many of them are usually white and need a 2000 watts on the back...... to have the pink coming and to say it is pink, especially in the large ones. This one is a must, a major piece in any collection! You can see the photo of it in my hand and understand it is really a large specimen extremly aesthetic.

Comments: A super miniature of these rare phosphates from the classic Rapid Creek location. Tan elongate complex crystals of Whiteite, well formed with sharp terminations, with the appearance of clusters of slightly diverging crystals with curving terminations. The lustre is sub-vitreous, which is superb for the mineral. Intergrown on the Whiteite are small dark green-blue Lazulite crystals, translucent and very lustrous in generally well formed crystals to 3mm. Minor needle Quartz and gemmy Siderite add extra sparkle around the base. A really superb specimen.

I would like to introduce my custom mounting service for the display of fine mineral specimens. The purpose of a custom mount is to securely hold specimens at the optimum viewing angle for maximum visual impact. The process involves making a cast of the mineral using a modern durable molding compound. This cast provides a perfectly contoured base which cradles the specimen in a very secure and stable manner. The base is hand trimmed, sanded and painted to be as inconspicuous as possible. Attention to detail at every step of the process gives my bases where seen a crisp, clean look reminiscent of the old museum mounts in the Smithsonian and contemporary mounts at the American Museum Of Natural History. I originally developed this process to display my own specimens, and am now proud to offer it as an alternative to acrylic bases.

My name is Marco Macchieraldo, I'm an Italian mineral collector and live in Torino, a big town in the north of Italy near the Alps mountains. I was born in 1959 and collect minerals since 1985. I'm member of the Associazione Piemontese di Mineralogia e Paleontologia (A.P.M.P.). I created this site to show some of the best specimens from my private collection, to public my trade lists of minerals with photographs and to exchange experiences with other collectors.
We are one of India's oldest mineral dealers, our roots go back to 1953. At that time, we were one of the few dealers in India exporting zeolites. We have been mining since 1970, and in 1977 we mined the famous 'Poona green apophyllite' from our own quarry at the 'Pashan Hill' in Pune, India.
We have progressively mined green apophyllite, scolecite and cavansite from our own sites in Maharashtra, India and hence, we have access to the top grade, the medium and the low grade of these minerals.
Today we are a major mineral company exporting zeolites from the Deccan Traps, and various minerals from India to all corners of the world.
We attend the Tucson and the Munich Show every year.
As a German mineralogist I spent over 12 years (from 1988 to 2000) in Mexico, where I worked as a geologist in precious metal exploration. Currently I am living in Germany, however I travel to Mexico several times per year, sometimes because I perform a short working contract, but my principal interest is the search of mineral specimens.
Most of the minerals I offer have been purchased directly from the mine personnel, but from time to time I also have the possibility to collect minerals by myself. Although there exist uncountable possibilities to collect minerals in the field or in abandoned mining districts, over 80% of the top quality mineral specimens from Mexico are recovered from active mines. Unfortunately many mines have closed or have reduced their production in the last few years due to extremely low metal prices in the world market, consequently it is getting more and more difficult to find this high quality. Nevertheless I will continue with my efforts in exploring Mexico for the finest mineral specimens. You will find major updates after each Mexico trip and generally the new top specimens appear first on this web page, before I offer them for sale in the mineral shows.
